My Favorite Sunday Activity

I've been a dedicated Postsecret reader for the last, I don't know how long. When my suite-mate Taylor told me they had a PostSecret gallery not too far from out UCDC center, I was uber excited. I always wish Frank Warren would do a presentation at UC Irvine, or somewhere in Orange County. ASUCI got Bill Nye the science guy to come and talk, why not Frank Warren?! The art exhibit was really small, but I always enjoy reading/looking at other people's secrets/artwork. I shared the PostSecret link with a friend the other day and he asked me why I enjoyed reading people's secrets so much.

Frank is publishing another book called Life, Death, & God, and reading all the secrets today made me feel a lot less alone. Each secret is unique in their own way, kind of like a person's fingerprint; however, all these confessions made me realize how we are all going through similar spiritual struggles. When I speak of spirituality, I don't only mean it in a religious sense, but many of these secrets exposed the inner struggles of faith and personal well-being. Many of the secrets today were a cry for help, a prayer desperately seeking forgiveness, or just longing to be found. I have to admit, it's been a while since I've been doing very well spiritually. I'm not saying I am looking for PostSecret to bring me back to God, but Frank Warren's project constantly reminds me that there are people out there going through the same struggles I have been keeping inside of me. In the last year or two I've been following his project, it has showed me an alternative way people speak or pray.
